MONSTERS ON THE MOON

4 Monsters. 1 Moon. And they all want these Crystals!

MONSTERS ON THE MOON: The game world

Earthly legendary and mythical creatures in space? Of course! Because in ‘Monsters on the Moon’, vampires, witches, werewolves and skeletons want to seize control of the Earth's satellite. Their goal: to establish the largest possible colonies there! Of course, none of the monsters begrudge the others victory! In the end, only one of the opponents can conquer the moon - and fly back to earth with the moon crystals they have collected! Who will take the moon?

MONSTERS ON THE MOON: The game idea

Cards are placed next to each other or on top of each other in order to bring more of your own monsters to the moon and displace the others. Only two spaces of a card may be covered at any one time, making the placement of cards increasingly tricky. Along the way, you skilfully place and collect crystals, build moon walls and place your spaceships - and you have the moon almost under control! It sounds simple, but it's great fun for friends and families.

These are the game variants

Different starting line-ups and game variants guarantee unlimited variety in the battle for the moon!

Starting line-up

Every game is different! Because you can always choose a different starting line-up. Do you want to mine crystals on the empty moonscapes and around Armstrong's base camp or jump straight into the fray? Start however you like or choose from the recommended scenarios ‘Far Away’, ‘Confrontation’ or ‘New Settlement’.

"Standard" variant

Place as many of your own monsters as possible on the moon! If they are right next to each other, you get double victory points. In addition, form as large a group as possible in which many of your monsters are neighbouring edge to edge. Collect moon crystals or place them on an empty moonscape.

"Moon walls" variant

Moon walls protect your territories and double your points! Decide anew each round whether you want to place one card or up to five walls. If your monsters are completely surrounded by walls, you get double victory points! Use the walls of others skilfully.

"Mission" variant

At the start of the game, you receive two missions that give you additional victory points. For example, you have to place your monsters at the edge of the playing field, arrange them in squares or always place them next to a crystal. Nobody else knows what your special moon mission is.

"Solo" variant

The "man in the moon" has made up his mind: The vampire is his favourite, the moon should belong to him! But that also means that all the other monsters have to go! Only the moon crystals can stay. At the end of the game, you get plus points for vampires and crystals and minus points for all other monsters. A score tells you how well you have done.

„A family game with a fun theme and rules that are explained in 2 minutes! There are lots of small tactical decisions and a great level of interaction! A nightcap or opener with high replay value!“

"A bit of luck, but also some tactical elements. I liked it best in pairs with the walls, as you can get in each other's way! It's incredibly fast, so you can add another game with the moon walls straight away. A slightly upmarket family game with a marvellous annoyance factor."

„We really liked the game and it has a really funny theme! It's really well balanced, because if you're behind at the start, you still have a chance of winning!“
